How is the data sent to me?
Depending on the type of request, TickAPI® can return data in a stream (/stream) or via download (/download).

How many instruments can I request at a time?
Using a /stream call to stream data, a user can only receive one instrument per request. Requests of multiple symbols, and requests that return multiple files (including certain futures data request and Company Info requests), can be made using /download call and downloading the files.

How much data can I request in a job, session, day?
TickAPI® does not limit the amount of data a user can request in a day or period of time, but it does limit the number of concurrent requests that can be made per user. Please note that Tick Data, LLC. reserves the right to limit a user's access to TickAPI® if that user's activities are deemed abusive or negatively impact the system's performance for other users.

How many requests can I make at the same time?
Tick Data limits the number of concurrent API requests to 10 per account.

Can I receive splits, dividends, and merger information via TickAPI®?
Since corporate actions information occupies more than one file (i.e. companyinfo.asc, splits.csv, dividends, csv, and mergers.csv), requests for this information must be made using a /download call and downloading the information.

Where can I get API help?
Tick Data provides extensive documentation, including method and parameter descriptions, a Quick Start Guide, API request examples, and a request building tool on the TickAPI® Support microsite: https://tickapi.tickdata.com.

TickAPI® has a help?with method that returns details on the available parameters for a given market. Please see the TickAPI® microsite and Quick Start Guide for more information.

Tick Data's support team is available from 9:00am to 6:00pm ET at +1.703.757.1370 or support@tickdata.com.
